ABOUT VANESSA KARIN CARIAS
My passion for research drives my enthusiasm for science outreach, innovation, and communication. Specifically, my passion lies with life science research that can be transformative and helps solve some of the greatest challenges facing the world today from health innovations to climate change. I promote awareness of new and exciting research through championing different services and research outputs. I strive to build and maintain relationships with those I encounter and I am dedicated and driven to making a difference in our community through STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Through my outreach efforts with the Alberta Women\'s Science Network, the TELUS World of Science Edmonton, the University of Alberta, and The Science Brief I also aim to create excitement for science within the broader community and advocate for diversity in STEM. I am passionate about helping the future generation of innovation through mentoring, participating in professional development programs, and public speaking. I am a lifetime learner who is curious about the world around us and is always open to learning from others and growing together.
