ABOUT VANESSA THORNHILL

At my previous role as a Payroll Advisor for The White Company in Northampton processing the UK and Republic of Ireland payroll on a monthly basis. During my time at The White Company, there has been many changes within the company that has directly or indirectly involved the Pay & Reward team. These have included the pay frequency transition from lunar to monthly payroll across two countries simultaneously, implementation of a new HR, Payroll and Expenses software, transitioning the payroll back in-house from a managed bureau service, implementation of The White Company Auto Enrolment pension scheme and streamlining of the staff discount scheme. In this role it has allowed me to gain lots of very good experience and knowledge with gaining a BTEC Certificate Level 3 in Payroll Techniques -Assoc CIPP, which has help with Manual Payroll Calculations, Court Orders, Student Loan Deductions, SMP, SSP, Maternity, Paternity & Adoption Rights, Overview of Shared Parental Leave and Pay (ShPL & ShPP). I have now been working at The White Company for many years now. In 2011 to 2015, I was the HR Coordinator gaining –my CIPD Level 3 Certificate Human Resource Practice - Assoc CIPD. In this role I was a HR generalist; responible for the Distribution Centre, and Contact Centre. I am a practical hand’s on person, hard-working individual with excellent communication skills, I can work on my own initiative or part of a team. I work well under pressure and pride myself in the quality of work that I produce. I am punctual and my attendances is exceptional. Due to my experience within the payroll and HR sector and my background in the working in education, I believe my customer service skills, flexible approach and ‘can do’ attitude will be beneficial to any company.
