In this role I will identify opportunities to add value, beyond compliance and risk mitigation, and contribute to long-term development, impact and sustainability. As legislation and policy around social value and environmental considerations steadily increase in importance - including the government announcement mandating social value as a procurement requirement for all government contracts (1 January 2021)- this role is an integral part of Cognizant UK operations and the ‘social’ pillar of our ESG efforts. Responsibilities• To Lead on the design and delivery of social value commitments in line Cognizant’s social value strategy • Lead the management of social value events and activities inside the organisation as well as with external stakeholders, • Review and appraise proposed processes, ensuring compliance and best practice • Assist in monitoring, evaluating, budgeting and reporting performance against planned objectives, deliverables and milestones. • Develop toolkits to support operational teams to assess and benchmark social value delivery • Engage a broad network of external and internal partners across multiple channels, platforms and activities • Handle our social value reporting to ensure it is outstanding, relevant and impactful.

ABOUT VANESSA SOAMES
I am a specialist in Social Value, Talent Development, Early Careers Recruitment, Recruitment Marketing and Employer branding with extensive experience in diversity, campaigns, technology implementation plus an assessment specialist. I am passionate about designing and having programmes to give opportunities and skills, to all. From attracting and retaining the best talent for the organisations I work for or creating social value in our communities. This is why I was an Institute of Student Employers Board member for 4 years - so I could continue to support students and employers to do best in class. At Cognizant social value is a core part of our culture and is embedded in much of our existing public sector work. With even more focus on bringing our social value commitments to fruition, my role is to coordinate the realisation of these efforts. I design, manage and oversee the delivery and monitoring of our social value commitments, procedures and partnerships, ensuring we bring these to life in the contractual commitments we already have in place for existing business and for new business secured. Previously to this role, I created a new Early Talent Strategy in UKI at Cognizant to align to future skilling and capability requirements. At AMS I worked in Brand and Attraction advisory, to advise clients strategically on their employer brand projects and employee experience. At Barclays I was Head of Global Recruitment for internships and graduates. Prior to that, at Police Now I built and delivered a new marketing process and adapted our recruitment process to be multiple award winning as well as designing a detective programme. In my previous roles I have worked as a freelancer with a number of clients writing or supporting their graduate recruitment strategy. At KPMG I headed up Graduate Recruitment and Recruitment Marketing and also worked in Experienced Hire recruitment as the Head of Direct Sourcing and as a Tax Account Manager.
