I craft and execute storytelling used across all external channels including media relations, policy and advocacy, research, and newsletters. My primary focus is honing the story of the restaurant industry - a burning heart of the nation\'s economy and its second-largest private employer. I am responsible for messaging utilized by Association leadership, Board members, lobbyists, grassroot advocates, members, and affiliate organizations at both the state and national level. I place a high priority on engaging with media to tell the stories of the people and policies that power the industry. By engaging with members of the media both proactively and reactively, I have been able to make small, but significant, changes in the ways reporters tell some of the industry\'s most consequential stories.During the pandemic, when states were forcing restaurant operators to close their doors and health officials were calling into question the safety of restaurants, I was a primary part of the crisis response team, creating expansive messaging in response to ever-changing experiences and leading public relations outreach to correct and improve consumer understanding of restaurant owners\' and workers\' experience.
