ABOUT VANESSA LU
As a computer engineering student at the University of Toronto, I am passionate about applying my technical skills and creativity to solve real-world problems. I have over four years of programming experience in C++, Java, and Python, as well as 1 year of hardware experience in Assembly, FPGA, and Verilog. I have designed and implemented hardware and software systems, ranging from platformer games in Unity to a Deep Learning Neural Network for predicting the spread of wildfires. I am also passionate about space technology, and am currently working on the University of Toronto Aerospace Design Team (UTAT)\'s Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS) Subteam to develop a cube satellite.I also have a keen interest in STEAM education, having worked as a facilitator at Steamoji - Kitsilano, where I taught children aged 5-18 various skills and concepts through projects using TinkerCAD, PrusaSlicer, Python, Scratch, Arduino, VEX Robotics, and 3D pens. Through this, I developed my leadership, organization, and teaching skills, and enjoyed inspiring the next generation of innovators and creators.
