Independently manage defense files from incept of claim until conclusion. Advise clients on legal strategy, handling and case evaluation. Attend hearings, conduct depositions and lead mediations. Draft all legal pleadings, claim evaluations, deposition summaries, exposure analysis and settlement recommendations. Vanessa also brings her workers’ compensation experience to lead the firm\'s Medicare Compliance Department. Vanessa has handled Medicare Compliance issues since 2009, and is credentialed in this area as a Medicare Set-Aside Consultant - Certified with the International Commission on Health Care Certification. In addition to preparing Medicare Set-Asides (for nationwide use), our Medicare Compliance Department assists with all aspects of MSP compliance, which includes identifying, negotiating and resolving claimed conditional payment liens. The Compliance Department also handles Medicaid compliance, to include disputes regarding Medicaid liens.Lecture at various continuing education seminars for workers’ compensation claims professionals.
