WORK HISTORY
Senior Reservoir Engineer @Forty Acres Energy
Houston, TX, US
Led multidisciplinary subsurface team in the planning, execution, and optimization of mature waterflood assets across the Central Basin Platform, delivering measurable uplift in production and reserves through technically sound and economically viable strategies. Partnered with stakeholders across technical, regulatory, and legal functions to align development plans with business priorities- Directed development planning, reservoir surveillance, and waterflood optimization for multiple mature fields, identifying and executing conformance improvement projects to enhance sweep efficiency and secondary recovery- Forecasted production for over 900 wells using DCA in PHDWin, managing a reserves database of cases across two operating entities. Built and updated type curves to support new waterflood projects, including PDNP, 2P, and 3P scenarios- Led full-field and pilot studies using analog waterfloods and simulation models to inform Plan of Development (POD) strategies. Enhanced reserves potential and improved predictive accuracy for water injection response- Collaborated cross-functionally with Land and Legal teams to pursue unitization of five proposed waterflood units. Presented technical and economic justifications—including reserves, CAPEX, and production forecasts—at BLM/SLO depth meetings, owner sessions, and NMOCD hearings- Served as an Expert Witness in regulatory proceedings, defending reservoir engineering evaluations and PODs at the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division- Planned and executed the workover portfolio, managing multi-rig schedules with consideration for capital allocation, compliance, and operational logistics- Conducted LOE (Lease Operating Expense) lookback analysis, ranking wells by cash flow performance. Collaborated with operations teams to identify cost-reduction opportunities and field improvements.

ABOUT VANESSA GLASS NEAL
I am a results-driven Reservoir Engineer with a passion for revitalizing assets, optimizing field performance, and leading integrated teams through technically challenging, high-impact projects. Over the past decade, I have supported and led development planning, waterflood optimization, and reserves forecasting across diverse basins—including the Permian, Gulf of America, and international fields in Egypt and the North Sea.My interests lie at the intersection of technical excellence and leadership. I thrive in roles that allow me to- Drive water injection and reservoir management strategies that materially improve asset value- Lead and integrate multidisciplinary teams to align around shared development goals- Apply classical and simulation-based reservoir engineering tools to guide field decisions- Mentor and coach early-career engineers, building capability across teams- Contribute to asset evaluation, strategic planning, and high-visibility reserves reporting.I’m energized by opportunities where technical work has clear strategic impact—where collaboration, sound engineering, and thoughtful execution come together to unlock long-term value. I find purpose in modernizing legacy assets, solving complex reservoir challenges, and helping teams navigate change with clarity and cohesion.I value being part of organizations that encourage innovation, foster mentorship, and prioritize integration across disciplines. Whether shaping field development strategies or supporting the growth of others, I’m committed to delivering meaningful, lasting contributions—both in asset performance and in team capability.
