ABOUT VANESSA ECKELS

As a global beauty leader, I built my career through artistry—first behind the brush, now behind the brand. In my current role as Sr. Director, Global Artistry Development and Client Experience at Hourglass Cosmetics, I lead artistry strategy and development as well as international product launches across retail, press, and event channels.My role sits at the intersection of product innovation, brand experience, and artistry. I’ve developed global training content, collaborated closely with product development teams, and led teams across regions to deliver consistent, elevated luxury experiences globally. Whether in store, on set, backstage, or in a boardroom, I help translate artistry into impact.I’ve led backstage for runway shows including Marchesa, Julien Macdonald, and Michael Costello, and have been the key editorial makeup artist in various Hourglass photoshoots and educational videos for products including Unlocked instant extensions mascara, Confession Ultra Slim Lipstick, Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick and Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil. I\'ve represented Hourglass in major press features—from a two-page spread in M2 Woman Magazine to coverage in InStyle, Bustle, Elle, Vouge, The Zoe Report, Hollywood Reporter, and NewBeauty.Since joining Hourglass in 2012, I’ve helped shape the brand\'s global artistry identity—from training our first flagship store team on Abbot Kinney, to becoming a key voice behind product launches like Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara, Vanish Airbrush Concealer, Vanish Foundation Stick, and more.My approach is always personal. I believe makeup is both transformative and grounding—it can change your mood, your confidence, even your day. That belief has carried me through nearly two decades in the luxury beauty space, and it’s what drives me to continue building artistry-led brands that resonate worldwide.
