ABOUT VAN PATTERSON

I’m a first-year Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Victoria, building the foundations of a career in business while actively growing my personal brand.Right now, I’m working as an Operator with Scholars Edge Painting, where I’m learning what it actually takes to run a real business, from talking to customers and organizing jobs to balancing responsibilities and delivering quality work. It’s a hands-on way to apply what I’m learning in the classroom to real people, real deadlines, and real results.I’d describe myself as technically intuitive, a strong critical thinker, and someone who naturally steps into leadership roles. In the past, I’ve led on the field as a rugby captain and off the field by taking initiative on projects and side hustles. I enjoy solving problems, making things more efficient, and stepping up when there’s responsibility on the line.Based in Victoria, BC, I’m still exploring where in business I want to specialize, but I’m especially drawn to entrepreneurship and building things from the ground up.
