Ludovic Vallier is a founder of DefiniGEN and leads the development of the company’s proprietary OptiDIFF technology platform. This cutting-edge platform integrates several key innovations: the reprogramming of patient-derived samples to generate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), CRISPR-mediated creation of disease-specific and isogenic iPSC lines, and their optimized differentiation into highly functional cell models for metabolic diseases.Ludovic has been instrumental in advancing the use of iPSCs as in vitro models for studying human development, a breakthrough achieved through his research at the University of Cambridge, where he serves as Professor of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells. His work has set new standards in the field, particularly in utilizing iPSCs for modelling liver diseases and developing cell-based therapeutic applications.Ludovic has authored numerous high-impact publications on iPSC technology and its applications in liver disease, and he is also a former director of the hIPSCs Core Facility at the Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre, further solidifying his leadership in the field of regenerative medicine and stem cell research.
