About Valerie Paxton
Valerie currently acts as business advisor, venture mentor, investor and consultant to several U.S. based companies, primarily in the medical, food, travel, hospitality and on-demand industries. In her spare time she is an Ambassador of Food, Arizona Wine and Spirits, traveling the world with her husband sharing tips and trends with the media, consumers, bartenders and restaurateurs.Valerie\'s career in PR, Marketing, Communications and Investor Relations started in 1988 as one of the first employees at the now Fortune 500 company Insight Enterprises, Inc.(NSIT). By Insight\'s 5th year in business, it was Inc. Magazine\'s 5th fastest growing company in the U.S. She managed many departments including marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, customer service, tech support, human resources and order administration. In 1990 she was named Vice President of Marketing/Advertising, then Vice President of Public Relations/Corporate Communications and later Vice President of Investor Relations/Corp Comm after NSIT\'s public offering in 1995. After 12 years helping Insight grow from $1 Million in annual net sales to over $1 Billion, Valerie left to pursue her dream of owning a company. She and her business partner Craig Hood formed Allegro Enterprises, Inc. and started doing business as AllegroMedical.com. Allegro offers consumers more than 40k products online and was one of the first medical supply companies on the web.Valerie\'s focus at Allegro was on analysis, blogging, automation, processes, site improvements, new products and new websites.After successfully growing the business for more than a decade, Craig and Valerie sold Allegro in March, 2011.
