Oversee a budget over 2.5 years for community-led priorities and initiatives, ensuring compliance with ARPA restrictions. Build trust and strong relationships between the City and Native American Tribes and the Indigenous community in support of creating a culture of belonging in Fort Collins through support of cultural gatherings (culture nights). Embed systems of support for Native community engagement events such as: Annual Arikara Farms Harvest Dinner, Northern Colorado Intertribal Powwow Association (NCIPA) to support the annual powwow, annual Bison Blessing event at Soapstone Natural Area, and an annual back-to-school blessing for youth and families Event planning with Trees, Water & People (TWP) to honor Indigenous People’s Day Planned and communicated quarterly community meetings including one with Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs (CCIA) Lead, hire and supervise the Native Nations Community Advisory Panelists (NNCAP) consisting of four local Indigenous community members. Led a collaborative effort to develop the City of Fort Collins Land Acknowledgement with community members and NNCAP Developed the first government-to-government Tribal Consultation process and guidelines for restoration projects on City properties with known cultural materials.
