About Valerie Makri
Structural engineer in the Chicago overhead transmission line group. Worked on a multitude of projects and utilities across the country, ranging from 34.5kV riser design, 69kV and 115kV rebuilds, 230kV steel greenfield line design, 345kV line rebuilds and refurbishment, and 765kV transmission planning. Technical experience includes PLS-CADD-POLE, and -TOWER, ATADS lattice tower design, light duty steel, engineered steel, and wood pole structure designs, lattice tower modeling and analysis, and direct embed and drilled pier foundation analyses and designs. Other experience includes leading engineering design teams and engineering efforts for EPC and EPcM projects, competitive transmission planning, construction engagement and constructability coordination, procurement support, review of construction planning submittals, on-site pre-construction and construction support, and proactive client coordination. Member of ASCE and ACI, and active co-chair for in-situ research project as a member for DFI EPSF.
