The elementary school counselor provides counseling services to students to support their academic,social, and emotional development. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, andadministrators to create a positive and inclusive school environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, personal, andsocial issues. Assist students in developing problem-solving and decision-making skills.Academic Support: Collaborate with teachers to identify and address academic challenges faced bystudents. Conduct academic assessments and help students set educational goals. Participate in school RTI programsSocial and Emotional Development: Implement programs to promote social and emotional learning. Support students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults. Facilitate school initiatives that promote positive behavior systems PBIS Assemblies (Fall/Spring)Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crises or emergencies affecting students. Collaborate with other school staff and external resources to provide immediatesupport.Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with special education teams to supportstudents with special needs.Parental and Teacher Collaboration: Work closely with parents to address concerns about their child\'s academic, social, oremotional well-being. Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies that support student success. Provide PD for staff and parents as neededClassroom Guidance Lessons: Conduct classroom guidance lessons on bullying prevention, study skills, and conflictresolution.
