ABOUT VALERIA PAGLIARO

My experience is focused on imagining, modelling, and building the cities and territories of our future.Offering my expertise in masterplanning, public space design & activation, green-blue infrastructures & NBS, I work with international, multi-disciplinary teams and engage with a broad range of stakeholders with a holistic approach that is essential to the success of my projects. Educated in architecture and public space between Italy and the Netherlands, where I nurtured my interest in public spaces and landscaping, I work at LAND since 2006, became partner in 2016.Before moving to Montreal as general manager of LAND Canada, I lived and worked in Milan participating to the city’s evolution into a major vibrant European city within the last 20 years by leading several key urban regeneration schemes including Porta Nuova (Hines), Santa Giulia and MIND Milano Innovation District (LendLease) and more, consulting both public and private clients. With my team I delivered projects of excellence to the community in Rome, Naples, Catania, Moscow, and the Corridor de Biodiversitè de Saint-Laurent in Montreal awarded with the CSLA Awards of Excellence and the National Urban Design Award, two top distinctions in Canada.A full member of the Italian Chamber of Architects, I have been invited lecturer at Politecnico di Milano, University of Guelph, Pratt Institute NY. In Canada I am committed to deploy nature-driven strategies to tackle the current extraordinary urban growth while taking bold climate action, with a focus on nature-positive strategic planning, urban redevelopment, multimodal mobility & slow tourism, energy landscapes, and climate resilience.
