ABOUT VALERIA CESARONI

I work at the intersection of political philosophy, technology and society, with a particular interest in education and AI. My research explores the social, political and human dimensions of emerging technologies, combining critical theoretical perspectives with applied research in educational and public-sector contexts.During my PhD, I examined the sociotechnical transformation of education and its democratic and inclusive implications, drawing on sociomaterial and critical traditions in philosophy and social theory. This work led to the development of analytical frameworks for understanding how AI and digital technologies reshape institutional practices, governance dynamics and professional roles.Alongside academic research, experience includes applied and project-based work within Horizon and Erasmus+ initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations, focusing on the societal and governance implications of digital technologies. This includes contributing to impact assessments, strategic research deliverables and policy-oriented analyses that translate research insights into actionable recommendations for public institutions and decision-makers, as well as the scientific coordination of interdisciplinary research activities.I have experience in the design and delivery of training programmes on AI literacy for teachers and professionals, supporting more informed, critical and participatory engagements with emerging technologies.I’m interested in participatory methodologies and political-ethical analysis that strengthen collective agency in the design and evaluation of sociotechnical transformations
