About Valentina Bonito
I am an Engineer (MSc, PhD) specialized in, among others, human tissue engineering, materials science, chemistry, optics and plasma physics. I have 15+ yrs of experience in project management and internal and external science and technology communication to both specialized and layman audiences. I am a strong believer that Science and Technology don’t fully accomplish their mission until they get out of some lab walls or the platter of a hard-drive. I can talk plasma physics and optics with engineers and physicists; Matlab and C++ with computer scientists; and explain your grandmother why the human body has it all when it comes to self-healing (all you need is a piece of plastic and a controlled immune response). I was trained to turn a scientific paper into the press release national and international journalists would want to cover, or take scientists out of their comfort zones on stages of music theaters or large exhibition halls. I can turn business priorities into strategies and clear communication objectives and tactics, and I can create content that would talk to all layers of complex organizations. I am not happy until I attach a number to all I do - at work and outside of it. Work and an espresso shot make me stand up every morning. Side jobs and volunteering work make me go to sleep with renewed energies and inspiration. I can’t function without people, and the love of family and friends.
