A chance encounter with an executive visiting my store sparked a revelation: I understood the nuances of HR, thriving in the \"gray\" areas where regulations, business needs, and employee welfare intersected. Armed with this insight, I pursued degrees in Psychology, recognizing its seamless synergy with HR. Transitioning into recruiting felt natural—I loved identifying top talent to fill crucial roles. Joining a privately equity-backed freight software company as a Recruiter was a pivotal moment. My resume caught the eye of the Recruiting Manager who told me \"I just have a good feeling about you.\" 80+ software engineers, 70+ sales stars, and numerous managerial and executive positions that I filled gave me the opportunity to pay her back for her faith in me. When I expressed a desire to delve deeper into HR, said Recruiting Manager enthusiastically embraced the idea. Transitioning into a hybrid Generalist/Recruiter role, I immersed myself in compliance, policy crafting, compensation strategies, and more. Then came the opportunity of a lifetime: our PE firm acquired a real estate software company. A casual chat with their VP of HR led to an offer to build their U.S. HR function from scratch. It was a chance to broaden my horizons, and I seized it with gusto. I\'m not your typical HR pro.
