About Valarie Robison

As a Special Event Coordinator at Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, I have been planning and executing corporate and specialty events for the tribal government and its enterprises for over nine years. I also hold the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) certification which will enable me to expand my skills and knowledge in the global event industry. I have a bachelor\'s degree in Sociology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, which has helped me to understand the cultural and social aspects of event planning and management. Some of the skills that I have developed and applied in my current and past roles include event design, budgeting, vendor negotiation, marketing, and evaluation. My core competencies are creativity, communication, organization, and problem-solving. My mission is to create memorable and meaningful experiences for the Choctaw Nation and its stakeholders, while also promoting its values, culture, and heritage. My field of expertise is in coordinating and delivering events that reflect the identity and goals of the Choctaw Nation, such as the annual Choctaw Labor Day Festival, the Choctaw Cultural Center Grand Opening, and the Choctaw Nation Health Fair. My values and goals are to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and excellence in the event planning and management field, and to continuously learn and grow as an event planner and as a person.
