MUSE is an NGO founded by a group of passionate individuals to address & find solutions to the pressing needs and challenges faced by rural communities in India.
Our interventions began in 2002, in Spiti - a stunning but extremely remote high-altitude cold desert nestled deep in the Himalayas.
Today, MUSE’s initiatives cover a broad spectrum and aim to create a synergy between the triple bottom line of economic empowerment, conservation and sustainable development.

The livelihood & conservation interventions of MUSE in the sphere of tourism led to the genesis of Ecosphere, a social enterprise that envisioned making tourism beneficial and memorable for everyone involved. Ecosphere is today one of the most awarded responsible tourism interventions in the country, whose model is being replicated widely.
