My role included development of cutting-edge sensing technologies for Eaton business, primarily working with different business units, understanding their problem statements/challenges in sensors domain further to develop and mature new technologies. and state or art solutions. Steered projects through various phases like concept development, detailed design, prototyping and testing, working with external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders; performed design analysis results and provide technical expertise for design trade off. Established test setup for various projects—led the process end-to-end, involving planning, lab space identification, design, procurement, and installation. Worked in multidisciplinary team (R&D, manufacture, sourcing, marketing, quality, suppliers etc) to meet Design to Cost/Quality/schedule and to assess product level potential risk identification. Applied DFSS learnings like risk assessment, Pugh matrix, p-diagram, design of experiments (DOE) in projects to achieve technology validation. Established collaboration with universities thru’ NDA execution and guided the testing there to validate Proof of Concept (POC). Led the work on validation of high-risk technologies for sensors development, creating the foundational base and proposing new innovative sensing solutions. Facilitated to drive sessions for our team by engaging with other business teams which developed a good platform for enhancing inter-team collaboration and business engagements and understanding their challenges. Designed a prototype sensor on the concept of metamaterials which offers higher sensitivity and miniaturization along with cost effectiveness, primarily for flex fuel, high energy materials and hazardous gas b. Performed numerical analysis in MATLAB and simulations in CST Microwave Studio, COMSOL for sensor design and optimization. c. Performed validation and testing of the sensor on characterization setup like Vector Network Analyzer. Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Laser and Electro-optics a. Worked on Designed Fourier and Fresnel Diffractive Optical Elements (DOEs) using MATLAB algorithms for optimization of the DOEs. b. Performed validation of the DOEs with bench level optical experiments-operated optical components e.g, Lasers, Fourier Lenses, Polarizers, Beam Splitters, Spatial Light Modulator.
