About Vaibhav Handa
My Bachelors work was related to a biopolymer i.e the production of PHA (polyhydroxy Alkanoates) using methanotrophic bacteria. I worked on a project that involved production of PHA (polyhydroxy Alkenoates ) which is an ester from a methanotrophic bacteria.To be more specific the name of bacteria was \"Pseudomonas Citronellolis\". With the rise in methane concentration,I believe that it is one of the best and hottest topic to work upon.Methane is the major component of the greenhouse gas which contributes to the calamities like global warming,by using methane oxidizing bacteria we can make its concentration less thus improving the quality of environment.My Masters work was related to studying the the biocorrosion property of Sulfate reducing bacteria using synthetic quorum sensing molecule. Quorum sensing (QS) mechanisms can influence key phenotypical and genotypical responses of sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB). My study evaluated effects of 20 mg/mL (w/w) n - Acyl homoserine lactone (AHL) augmentation on performance of Grcoatings on copper (Cu) exposed to microbiologically influenced corrosion effects by Oleidesulfovibrio alaskensis G20 (OA G20) in lactate-C (LC) electrolyte after 7 dayincubation. The tests were carried out in a three-electrode corrosion cells with a singlelayered-Gr/Cu as a working electrode, Ag/AgCl as reference electrode, and graphite electrode. The Gr is a model for atomically thin coating (<1 nm) owing to its ability to form a low-profile nanometer thick, conformal, impermeable coating on Cu surfaces via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. Within few minutes of the injection, the corrosion rates in the augmented cell were found to be 50% greater than the control. The AHL augmentation reduced the lag time for Gr/Cu to achieve the peak corrosion behavior by nearly 60 h. The underlying reasons behind these differences were discerned based on the transcriptomic analysis of the OA G20 cells exposed to the different treatments. This fundamental knowledge can be used to rationally design Gr coatings that intercept QS mechanisms in SRB.Currently working for Discovery Life Sciences as a quality control analyst. Whereby Implemented quality control objectives to resolve production issues, optimize product reliability.Monitored and upheld safe operating procedures and clean area mandates to meet regulatory requirements.
