ABOUT VAHID VAHIDINASAB
I’m a Professor and Chair in Sustainability at the University of Salford, working at the intersection of energy systems, policy, market, and people. My focus is on creating the conditions for self-sustaining, resilient communities and neighbourhoods that are fair, affordable, and leave no one behind. With over 20 years of experience across academia, industry, and leadership, I lead UKRI and Horizon Europe-funded projects that push boundaries in flexibility markets, decentralised systems, and place-based innovation. I’m also a keynote speaker, strategic advisor, and editor of top-tier journals, with a strong track record of thought leadership and public engagement. My work is driven by my passion for a sustainable futures for everyone. I build collaborative teams that turn systems thinking into real-world impact, supporting communities to generate, manage, and benefit from their own energy and capabilities. Whether through research, innovation, or policy dialogue, my goal is to accelerate the just transition from ambition to action. Current interests- Hyperlocal multi-energy neighbourhoods - V2X and local flexibility markets - Energy equity and community-led transitions - Collaborations with DSOs, policymakers, and innovators 🤝 Partnering For Impact: I welcome opportunities for new research partnerships, strategic collaborations, advisory roles, speaking engagements, and media contributions.
