Vafa Vahid currently serves as the Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Salisbury School, where he oversees the institution’s financial strategy, operational efficiency, and technological infrastructure. His core expertise spans finance, operations and technology, risk management, business resiliency and continuity, strategic expense management, facilities oversight, and procurement.Before joining Salisbury, Vafa was a founding partner at NBCG, a management consulting firm specializing in advisory solutions across Finance, Operations & Technology, Risk & Compliance, and Expense Management. His leadership helped clients navigate complex operational challenges and drive sustainable performance improvements.Earlier in his career, Vafa held senior executive roles at BNY Mellon, including Managing Director, where he led a firm-wide resolution and recovery initiative. This project established a robust service company structure designed to enhance operational resilience and efficiency under both normal and stressed conditions. Prior to that, he directed Cost Management and Analytics for the Client Service Delivery division.Vafa’s career also includes pivotal leadership positions at major financial institutions. At Fannie Mae, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Shared Services. At Citigroup, he held multiple global CFO roles, including Capital Markets Operations & Technology and Private Bank Operations & Technology, as well as Director of Operations Strategy and Transformation for the Institutional Clients Group.He holds an MBA in International Finance from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hobart & William Smith Colleges.
