About Vadim Kouevda

A while ago I had about 30 minutes to stop 45 million dollars from disappearing. Longest 30 minutes in my life. With trading floor manager behind my back polishing my understanding of what is going to happen. That moment taught me a lot about what I am capable of, about achieving goals, believing in success, good and bad management.I succeeded and kept on.Nowadays I am managing all aspects of Broadcom\'s World Wide Reference Network:• Uninterrupted product delivery to customers• Architecting and building effective and highly available environments• Seeing strategic projects to their completion• Budget balancing, negotiating with vendors and saving money• Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure Clouds, and Akamai CDN• Two data centers and 14 remote stations• Interfacing with with other organizations as well as customers• Automating and constantly improving operations

Experience

  1. Manager, Cloud & Network Operations

    Broadcom

Nov 2014 — Present · Santa Clara, CA, US

Our World Wide Reference Network provides data for many applications helping customers to achieve satisfaction with our products. This makes our infrastructure extremely important and raises high availability and uninterrupted delivery requirements. For me it translates into:• Overseeing end-to-end product development and deployment.• Establishing uninterrupted service delivery.• Business development, budgeting and negotiations, cultivating successful relationships with clients and partners, working closely with the engineering, marketing, sales, legal teams, and vendors.• Managing, mentoring, and training team members, providing hands-on technical leadership.• Regulating processes, identifying opportunities for improvement. Implementing effective support tools. Performing statistical research of key capacity, availability and performance metrics.Over the years we transitioned hardware based data centers first into more flexible VMware virtual cloud. With growing demand and sometimes unforeseeable traffic patterns we engaged Amazon & Akamai CDNs. Next step was complete conversion to the two-region AWS Cloud, adding Azure later.
