I am currently pursuing PhD in Chemistry from BIT MESRA. I pursued my Ph.D. research from session 2020 under the guidance of Prof.(Dr.) Ashoke Sharon, Dean of Faculty Affairs and Dr. Chandralata Bal. We successfully designed and synthesized a pyranone-derived pyridone scaffold as an anti-COVID agent, we also found better activity than marketed reported drugs like remdesivir and Nirmatrelvir and also filed a Japanese patent of our compound.(JP20••••••40)We also developed a microwave-assisted hydro- hydro-decarboxylation method of 2-pyranone-3- carboxylic acid and the research article has already been published. Another one-pot method was developed based on the intramolecular rearrangement of 2-pyranone amide to 2-pyridone ester using microwave conditions.
