ABOUT UTTAM DHAKAL

I am a Graduate Assistant at Youngstown State University, where I pursueded my Master\'s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems and VLSI design. I have a strong academic record, with a GPA of 4.0 and multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. My research interests include renewable energy generation, smart grid, distributed energy resources, and cyber-physical systems in smart grid.I also have extensive industry experience as an Electrical Engineer, working on several large-scale and complex projects in Nepal and abroad. At Building Design Authority, I prepared a Bill of Quantity and electrical design for Bardibas Medical College, worth over $10M, and Nijghad International Airport, one of the biggest international airports globally, with an expected electrical cost of more than $300M. I also designed and installed over 40 transformers in rural electrification projects, and improved power output and grid stability through rotor side control algorithm for DFIG. I am proficient in various software tools and programming languages, such as ETAP, Electrical AutoCAD, Open DSS, PSS/E, TARA, CYME, PSCAD, MATLAB, MATPOWER, Cadence OrCAD/PSpice, C/C++, Python, VHDL, Verilog, and MATLAB/MATPOWER.I am passionate about solving challenging and impactful problems in the field of electrical engineering and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and innovation. I am eager to learn new skills and technologies and collaborate with diverse and talented teams. I am confident that I have the competencies, expertise, and motivation to excel in any electrical engineering role or project.
