About Utsav N. Harkhani

Utsav Nileshbhai Harkhani is a Master of Science student in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. His technical interests include reservoir and production engineering, reservoir simulation and modeling, machine learning applications in petroleum engineering, carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), geothermal energy, and sustainable energy technologies. He actively leverages Python and data analytics to develop insights and solutions for energy-sector challenges.Before pursuing his master’s degree, Utsav served as a Senior Production Engineer & Installation Manager at Oil India Limited. He managed operations of 25 producing oil and gas wells and led teams of 25–30 professionals. He successfully optimized gas lift systems, resulting in enhanced production. He also implemented flow assurance solutions during winter operations, demonstrating strong leadership, technical proficiency, and problem-solving abilities.Utsav completed his Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), graduating as the gold medalist and class topper. During his undergraduate studies, he led award-winning research on hydrate inhibitors and delivered recognized technical presentations on trapped annular pressure in deepwater wells and propane-based fracturing fluids. As the Technical Head of the IADC PDEU Student Chapter, Utsav Led the planning and execution of 10+ technical events, 40+ quizzes, and 30+ workshops to enhance student engagement and industry exposure. Also Collaborated with faculty and industry professionals to host impactful knowledge-sharing sessions.His internship at ONGC as a Reservoir Engineering Intern, where he modeled polymer flooding EOR Process using CMG IMEX, deepened his passion for reservoir simulation and EOR. He has also completed multiple professional reservoir modeling and CO₂ sequestration courses from Computer Modelling Group (CMG).Utsav is driven to advance subsurface energy solutions whether through CCS, geothermal energy, or enhanced oil recovery and aspires to contribute to a more efficient, reliable, and low-carbon global energy future.
