About Utsav Chadha

I\'m a senior software developer / creative technologist presently based in New York City.I\'m a master\'s graduate from New York University\'s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP). Prior to this, I worked for Amazon as a software developer for three years. Tracing further back, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.My interest resides in using code and art as a means to solve problems. As a developer and artist, what drives me is to find creative applications of software and technical applications of the arts.

1. Senior Software Engineer

   Vimeo

   May 2022 — Present · NY, US

   Full stack development for Vimeo’s library team - responsibilities entailed developing and maintaining Vimeo users\' folder+video tree structure, bulk operations, related backend API endpoints and relational SQL databases.Asynchronous processing - Moved Vimeo library’s bulk operations ( delete and move functions ) from legacy synchronous workflows to an asynchronous process. The change resulted in scaling the endpoints from a threshold of 50 items per request —> items per request. This move also optimized the related average endpoint latencies by 60-70%.Library features - Developed several library features related to paginated content filtering, account permissions logic, caching, analytics, share and move operations, cold storage data and playlists. Software design and management - Led software projects, devised technical assessments, estimated timelines and scoped feasibility using Agile methodologies, tested deliverables, managed phased deployments, and implemented monitoring. Mentored junior developers and summer interns.Monitoring and instrumentation - Implemented dashboards to track and observe Vimeo library endpoint latencies, related request traffic, 5xx and 4xx errors, and related slack+pagerduty alerting.
