About Ute Reisinger
I am a Social Development Expert and Fulbright Fellow with over 15 years of professional experience across five continents, advancing responsible investment, social sustainability, and accountability in international development and frontier markets. My core tools are the Environmental and Social Policy frameworks of international financial institutions. I have applied these across sectors including agricultural development, climate resilience, water and sanitation, education, health, transport, private sector innovation, and human rights advocacy - supporting projects in complex regulatory and socio-political environments.Currently, I work in a global World Bank Group team, leading our work on private sector accountability and grievance response across Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Latin America. I oversee environmental and social grievance resolution and engagement with Civil Society Organizations at project, sectoral, and regional levels, advancing transparency, risk mitigation, and responsible private sector investment.Previously, at the Inter-American Development Bank, I contributed to the modernization and implementation of the Environmental and Social Policy Framework as a key expert on Labor Rights, Working Conditions, and Human Rights. My work strengthened project risk management systems and ESG governance across Latin America and the Caribbean.Through professional engagements in LAC, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the United States, I have developed strong intercultural leadership skills and a results-based approach to sustainable investment. I am particularly interested in the governance dimensions of the emerging space economy including responsible investment in space infrastructure, sustainability standards in space, and the development of accountability mechanisms that protect economic, environmental, and social rights in new global commons. I am motivated by the opportunity to help shape the policy frameworks and ESG architecture that will define space as the next frontier of sustainable development.
