ABOUT UMA RANJAN

I am inter-disciplinary by training, curious by nature, and business savvy by choice. I bring out-of-the-box thinking combined with deep expertise into everything I do. By challenging limiting assumptions, I have helped teams and businesses grow across multiple domains. By helping teams strengthen domain expertise while being customer-centric, I have propelled them to high performance and innovation in existing product lines as well completely new ones. By demanding high standards while being compassionate, I have mentored people to grow both in large companies as well as in fledgling startups.I have a deep understanding of the automotive industry, having worked on vehicle dynamics, occupant safety and accident-free driving for autonomous vehicles.I built from scratch a team whose products secure transactions on more than 5 billion phones, along with conceptualising and building an entire Trust Module for mobile devices. The teams I built have fruitful collaborations with clinicians across the world, and enable quantitative insights in diagnosis and therapeutic decisions. I continue to contribute to the Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance, an initiative to bring accuracy and predictability into clinical imaging. I was part of the research team at the Indian Institute of Science, which pioneered machine learning. My early training there helps me look at learning systems in a very fundamental way, treating data as an integral part of everything I do and analytics as a natural way of solution. I build partnerships based on mutual respect. I look forward to working with you if you want someone who- Wants to solve big problems, touching people\'s lives- Has a curious mind and can mentor people to break out of their mould- Has an ability to connect with people, building bridges across domains- Can create surprising insights based on a strong math and technology foundation- Is constantly experimenting both at a domain and technology level
