ABOUT USAMA VORAJEE
I’m Director of Greenstorm, a business focused on supporting the delivery of energy efficiency and retrofit programmes across the UK as part of the transition to net zero.With over 20 years’ experience in the energy and utilities sector, my career has spanned technical engineering, operational leadership, commercial strategy and large-scale programme delivery. I began my career as a technical engineer with British Gas and progressed through senior leadership roles across the sector, including positions with Economy Energy and Avid Energy, where I led operational teams, commercial functions and government obligation programmes.Today at Greenstorm, we work with energy suppliers, housing providers, local authorities and installation partners to deliver surveying, retrofit and installation services that support programmes such as WH:SHF, WH:LG, Capital Works and Net Zero aspirations.Our business operates through two core divisions:• Assessment Services – delivering impartial surveying solutions to partners within WH:SHF and WH:LG, completing over surveys annually.• Installation Services – providing full design and delivery of insulation, solar PV and air source heat pump systems across residential and commercial sectors.Together, these capabilities allow us to deliver integrated retrofit solutions spanning retrofit assessments, PAS2035/38 compliance, retrofit coordination, technical surveying and low-carbon installations.My focus is on building strong partnerships and delivery frameworks that enable high-quality, compliant retrofit programmes to be delivered at scale. I’m particularly interested in practical solutions that improve housing quality, reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.I’m always open to conversations with organisations involved in retrofit, decarbonisation and housing improvement programmes across the UK.
