About Urwa Muaz

I am a Fulbright Scholar and New York University graduate. I am generically fascinated by ability of machines to perform cognitive tasks and potential of this technology to transform human life. As our species uncover new arenas in artificial intelligence, it is also phase of self discovery for us. We are only able to consciously understand and articulate a small fraction of our knowledge, but the things that we master with such ease, like vision and speech, are still a mystery to us. In process of trying to teach machines to do that, we are forced to reflect on how we develop these capabilities. I would like to play a part in this marvelous journey that we are on. For that purpose, I like to consider myself a student of Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.During my graduate study and industry experience (that preceded it), I have developed some skills in Machine Learning, Deep learning, NLP and Computer Vision (yes they are overlapping fields). I enjoy translating academic artifacts into real-world applications. Furthermore, I have some experience leading a team. Finally, independent research has been a large part of my industrial and academic experience and I enjoy it the most. I am looking for an opportunity that fuels my aspirations and aligns with my passions, so that we can forge a seamless collaboration and I can best utilize my skills to add value.
