As the Design Integration Lead for the Maelstrom small-scale turbopump project, I have taken on a key role in managing the integration of components within the turbopump assembly, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. This position has allowed me to combine technical design expertise with hands-on project management experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment.Key responsibilities and achievements include:• Design Integration: Oversaw the integration of mechanical and fluid components within the turbopump assembly, ensuring alignment with project specifications and performance goals.• Technical Analysis: Applied computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), and AxSTREAM software to optimize the design and performance of turbopump components.• CAD Expertise: Utilized advanced CAD tools, including Onshape, to create and refine detailed models of components and assemblies, ensuring precision and manufacturability.• Project Management: Acquired and demonstrated project management expertise by coordinating development, testing initiatives, and team collaboration to meet project deadlines and objectives.• Development and Testing: Contributed actively to the design, prototyping, and testing phases of the turbopump, ensuring quality and reliability of the final product.• Innovation and Optimization: Identified opportunities for design improvements and implemented solutions to streamline the integration process and enhance overall performance.This role has deepened my understanding of turbopump systems and advanced design methodologies while strengthening my skills in CAD modeling, technical analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.
