Regulatory approval through 510(k) process as well as planning for and writing IDE and PMA submissions. MAJOR RESEARCH INTERESTS: Extracorporeal Life Support Modalities to include: A. Extracorporeal Lung Assist via veno-venous route as an advanced modality to support Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome B. Extracorporeal hepatic bypass as a means to facilitate repair of massive hepatic and retrohepatic caval injuries Extracorporeal Therapeutic Modalities to include: A. Plasma exchange and plasma filtration for Streptococcal Shock and possibly Gram Negative Shock. B. Continuous renal replacement techniques; C. Rewarming techniques in profound hypothermia Advanced Respiratory Failure: A. Positional therapy for ARDS B. Endobronchial techniques for control of broncho-pleural fistulas C. Attenuation techniques to minimize ventilator induced lung injury D. Prevalence of ARDS Monitoring and assessment of cerebral hemodynamics: A. Jugular venous monitoring for cerebral oxygen consumption B. Transcranial Doppler to assess cerebral blood flow and vasospasm Goal: An Executive management, or consultation position within the medical device industry that will utilize my comprehensive background acquired in critical care technology and in building profitable organizations within this specialty Specialties: Change Agent Product concept development Product adaptation
