ABOUT UPIN DATTANI
I have over 40 years of IT experience, initially with retail banks and the last 11 years with speciality insurance. My insurance experience has been with pricing systems with an emphasis on data. A background of development, design and architecture across the spectrum of IT systems has allowed me to create scalable solutions to uplift Excel pricing models from basic standalone files to functionally rich systems connected to an enterprise database to form part of an underwriting workbench. I have also been involved with the evaluation and implementation of pricing platforms. I have taken projects from the problem stage through proposal, pilot, design to development and recruited and managed a team to implement a full scale roll out. I am particularly interested in identifying and implementing efficiencies in the underwriting process. This may involve creating systems or connecting existing systems. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in building rich MI dashboards that showcase the data gathered by various pricing/underwriting systems that I have created.
