Built and grew this global and fully-remote org from a single team of 8 to three teams with 30+ engineers, researchers, data/ops, and product/project managers. Hired, coached, and grew managers (and lead of leads) to manage teams that own end-to-end development and deployment of ML models that perform millions of inferences per second. Introduced OKRs and metrics to measure performance and health. Created a culture of ownership by setting appropriate context, role clarity, and introducing the right amount of processes, tools, and training. Empowered teams to own products and processes fully. Directed and did hands-on work developing internal LLM products using both local, ChatGPT/Claude, and fine-tuned models. Contributed technical expertise to papers on cutting-edge research technology including GANs, OOD anomalies, and active learning.Rightsized teams and developed an underused product into a useful business line.
