ABOUT TOM LYNCH
I build technical teams and the spaces they work in for creatives. For six years I’ve led technical services at UAL Creative Computing Institute. My team supports projects across AI, electronics, programming, fabrication, and AV. I’ve developed labs, specified equipment, managed seven-figure budgets, and delivered multiple building projects. Before that I founded South London Makerspace. I organised London’s first Maker Faire and co-organised Maker Assembly events around the country. I’ve also worked as a creative technologist on interactive installations and spent six years at Apple supporting customers and retail systems.I’m passionate about creating safe, well-equipped, and welcoming spaces where anyone—from beginner to expert—can prototype ideas quickly and equitably. Chairing UAL’s LGBTQ+ Staff Network for four years shaped how I build inclusive teams and environments. If you’re building a team, a space, or a programme, and need someone who understands both the technical and human side, I’m interested in talking.
