About Gurpreet Sodhi

With over three decades of experience in the United Nations system, I am the Chief Risk Officer at the UN, responsible for developing and implementing the organization\'s global risk management framework, policies, and strategies. I have a strong academic background in business administration and accounting, with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Panjab University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Adelphi University.My core competencies include financial and operational excellence, transparency and accountability, governance and compliance, crisis management and recovery, and stakeholder coordination and collaboration. I have led the establishment of two new UN entities in the Netherlands and Germany, securing optimal resource allocation and utilization, effective service and output delivery, and enhanced stakeholder engagement. I have also facilitated the resolution of a $200 million claim after Hurricane Sandy, evacuated staff from conflict zones, ensured staff safety during the pandemic, and rushed aid to Beirut after the blast. My mission is to build global goodwill, solve problems, and achieve unprecedented results.
