ABOUT CRISTIAN UNGUREANU

I\'m an engineering and technology executive with 20 years of experience spanning telecoms, financial services, defence, AI research, and global programme delivery. I specialise in building and leading high-performance engineering organisations, driving automation and DevOps architecture at scale, and translating complex technical strategy into measurable commercial outcomes. Currently at Ericsson as Industrialisation Lead Manager / DevOps Architect for CU UK & Ireland, I manage a £500M programme portfolio, lead a 40-strong team of senior engineers, and deliver 30 presales and POC engagements per quarter, directly contributing to the EMEA revenue pipeline. Since joining Ericsson, I have consistently exceeded annual OKR targets by 210-290%. Earlier in my career I have worked in technology leadership roles across four continents, as Deputy CTO at Mashreq Bank (Dubai), CTO at the EU Institute for Security Studies (Paris), Interim CTO at Cisco (New York), Senior Project Manager at DeepMind (London), and Project Manager at AWS (Seattle) and Europol (The Hague), among others. My academic background at MSc in Major Programme Management from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and an Engineer\'s Degree in Automation and Computer Science. I hold PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, and CBAP/CCBA certifications, and in 2025, completed a full series of AI, Generative AI, and Machine Learning credentials. The three practical realities of programme delivery- Fast + Cheap → quality or schedule suffers. You cut corners, reduce testing, or accept scope loss- Fast + On Time → cost will rise. You need extra people, overtime, premium vendors, or expedited logistics- Cheap + On Time → speed and often quality suffer. You will need to operate with minimal buffers and accept a heightened risk of scope gaps. Understanding these trade-offs, and having the conviction to communicate them clearly to stakeholders, is the foundation of every successful programme I have led.
