ABOUT ROBERT UNGARD

I am a results-oriented health science researcher and values-driven professional. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and learning from others and have a passion for applying my multidisciplinary skillset to distilling information and solving challenging problems.As a PhD candidate researching cancer and chronic pain I can efficiently understand and communicate scientific information. I regularly write and present on a wide range of topics to scientific and public audiences and have a demonstrated track record of working in interdisciplinary teams to identify and solve complex problems in science, business and communications. Highlights:• Life Science & Healthcare Expertise: I am a Frederick Banting and Charles Best Doctoral Scholar ranked by the Tri-Council Agency as one of the top 8% of PhD candidates in Canada. I currently conduct multidisciplinary research in the fields of oncology and pain medicine, where I have presented at over 25 local and international events, authored 15 peer-reviewed publications, and won over 17 awards. • Consulting: I have consulted in multiple engagements for start-up life science companies including completing high-quality market and therapeutic area research, commercialization plans, and scientific insights. In addition, I have completed a mini-MBA program and several team business case competitions through the Graduate Management Consulting Association.• Leadership & Teamwork: I currently lead a team of 63 staff as Editor-in-Chief of the national academic student journal Health Science Inquiry. In research settings I have trained and led over 30 employees and students and have educated over 200 students in academic settings.
