ABOUT UMME KULSUM

I’m Umme Kulsum, an MBA candidate at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), with a commerce background from Banaras Hindu University. My journey blends management, social media strategy, rural engagement, and CSR initiatives, reflecting my passion for driving both business outcomes and social impact.As a Management Intern at Vedanta’s Nand Ghar project, I worked on communication and community outreach, designing campaigns that advanced goals in nutrition, education, health, and women empowerment. Earlier, through my Village Fieldwork Segment with BAIF, I conducted surveys and focus group discussions with villagers, producing actionable recommendations to improve sanitation and quality of life.Beyond rural and CSR-focused work, I have built a strong foundation in social media and digital strategy through internships with Trisdel Media, IMS Learning, Womenite, and Medha. These experiences enabled me to manage campaigns, boost engagement by up to 30%, organize large-scale student events, and create youth-focused content that connects meaningfully with diverse audiences.I also nurture my creative and entrepreneurial side as a digital content creator with over Instagram followers. My reels have reached audiences of 2.7M+, and I’ve successfully run a jewelry business while launching “Shirkat,” an open mic platform for writers and artists.I am deeply interested in opportunities that lie at the intersection of marketing, communication, and rural/social development. I believe in blending data-driven insights with human-centered storytelling to create strategies that are impactful, sustainable, and scalable.
