About Umesh Chandra S.

Have been responsible for IT infrastructure & operations, including Cybersecurity operations, at the IMF head quarters and nearly 120 offices world wide. Track record of overseeing timely completion of numerous projects in a wide range of services – such as knowledge management, cloud migration, data center relocation, transition to managed service providers, security, major technology deployments etc. Development and implementation of cloud and sourcing strategies was integral part of the role. Any leader needs to motivate and take his/her team along, so the desired outcome becomes part of their success story. During my tenure chief of one of the largest divisions, I have excellent formal feedback from direct reports, going back several years. A testament to this observation, are multiple successful project completions. Managed day-to-day delivery of end user services such as web presence, messaging, networking, computing, PC & mobile devices, remote access, audio-visual collaboration, telephony, service desk and monitoring. Cybersecurity Operations was a key responsibility, enabling secure delivery of the IT services. Such a large technology portfolio required a good understanding of the architecture, closely working with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization, conducting due diligence for modernization, assessing long-term impact of technical decisions as well as adopting practical implementation approaches. I was an active member of the architecture review board. Have been part of IMF’s Crisis Management Team as well as Emergency Operations Response Team for several years, and been involved in management of several major incidents including the pandemic.
