Manager – Polymer R&D,Reliance Technology Group, Reliance Industries Limited.(Role-Research Scientist : January 2009– Present)Polymer R&D,Reliance Technology Group, Reliance Industries Limited.(Role-Research Scientist : January 2010– Present)Currently Working with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)(A fortune 500 company and one of the largest private sector organization in India) as Research Scientist for Polyolefin catalysis. • Synthesis and characterization of catalyst (Ziegler Natta type) for butadiene.• Synthesis, characterization and performance evaluation of various types of organometallic compounds suitable to use as Precursor for MgCl2 supported TiCl4 catalyst.• Preparation of Ziegler-Natta catalysts of third, fourth and fifth generations through incorporation of alkyl benzoates, phthalates and diethers as internal donors and titanium on active MgCl2 support• Synthesis and characterization of various esters molecules suitable as internal donors for Ziegler Natta types of catalysts.• Detailed catalyst compositional and structural characterization – elemental analysis; organic components identification through gas chromatography, FTIR & NMR spectroscopy; crystalline features through WAXD; pore structure through Surface Area techniques; particle shape and size distribution though PSD analysis and SEM imaging.• Handling of pyrophoric and moisture sensitive chemicals –usage of atmos bags, glove box and related equipment / glassware• High pressure slurry polymerization of olefins (propylene and ethylene). • Understanding of polypropylene structure through spectroscopic and crystallographic techniques.• Involved in scale up activities from bench scale (20 g) to 2-3 kg at pilot plant scale for catalyst, donor and catalyst precursor.• Involved in commercialization of catalyst, donor and precursor once the technology was transferred to the manufacturing.• Influence of polypropylene and polyethylene product characteristics on the processing.
