ABOUT UMESH KANGRALKAR

Professional Civil/Structural Engineer with 22 years of experience in engineering analysis, design, detailing and execution of reinforced concrete and structural steel of various industrial structures for Oil & Gas plant, Refinery plant, combine cycle power plant, LNG plant, Chemical plant, Petrochemical plant, LDPE Plant, Water retaining structure, Containment wall, High rise residential and Commercial buildings. Capable of handling Detailed Engineering Designs, FEED, EDS, DBM and sustaining projects independently. Worked as Area lead/Sub lead positions in various projects. Major responsibilities - • Performed Civil/Structural design and calculations using governing codes and standards, specifications, engineering software, skills and experience. • Performed design of complex industrial process buildings, pipe rack/pipe bridge structure, sleeper racks, equipment foundations for vertical/horizontal vessel, exchanger and pump; design of tank foundation, secondary containment and underground tank. Performed foundation design for vendor supply buildings and substations. • Performed analysis and design of structure using modularization concept and cold weather engineering design • Checked and stamped Civil/Structural design drawings; reviewed vendor drawings & documents. • Provided guidance to junior and intermediate staff on the team including overseas team. • Coordination and interactions with client and vendors. Attended and participated in project and client meetings. Performed 3D design review with the client and multi-discipline design teams. Technical and Software Skills - • Proficient in structural steel & reinforced concrete design including shallow & deep foundation & seismic analysis • Well conversant with current design codes of Canadian CSA A23.3, S16-01, NBC, ABC & American codes • Proficient in the use of STAADPRO, TEKLA, S-Frame and S-Steel for structure design • Familiar with the use of Mathcad, MS office, AutoCAD & 3D modeling software
