As a TV-SRE (Service Reliability Engineer) for Over the Top (OTT) Bell TV services, I\'ve dynamically assumed multiple roles such as DevOps Specialist, Application Architect, and Cloud Developer. Key highlights include:• Leading the implementation of GitLab-CI-based CI/CD pipelines, aligning with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE) methodology. Ensuring streamlined software lifecycles for the video origin packager on GCP, a critical element of video delivery for the FibeTV app.• Architected and deployed backend OTT video origin software on Google Cloud (GCP), leveraging GitLab and Terraform for infrastructure as code. All technical deployments were done using terraform modules. • Utilized Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) services & Cloud Storage to enhance quality of service, reduce on-premises hardware dependency, & integrated Cloud Monitoring with PagerDuty to catch issues at the earliest.• Designing and developing a Python Django web application for on-premises video origin packager platform, automating solutions across 150 servers. This initiative streamlined tasks, reducing Time to Repair (TTR) and optimizing efficiency by saving over + manual hours annually.• Implemented ELK and Grafana for proactive monitoring of the OTT Video service and integrated alerts/watchers with slack and email using PagerDuty, improving reliability and reducing downtime more than 25% per alert!• Led F5-based high-availability solutions, integrating load balancing, DNS, GSLB, optimizing application scalability. Showcased expertise in enterprise networking, TCP/IP, effectively managing substantial video traffic.
