ABOUT UMAR ABDULLAH

Passionate professional dedicated to temporary traffic control, temporary traffic management and temporary highway design. I hold a bachelor\'s of civil engineering degree from the Toronto Metropolitan University, specializing in the Transportation sector. I have also acquired invaluable experience in Traffic Engineering and various leadership roles throughout my career journey. Through my experience with Traffic Operations management, I have overseen and steered design and planning for traffic staging and construction sequence to support construction of large scale transit utilizing resources such as the Ontario Traffic Manuals, traffic signal design/optimization, pedestrian + vehicle management, traffic impact analysis and LoS analysis. I have also acquired a strong understanding of project controls and procurement. I have attained these skills working for the \"Aecon Group\" on the tunneling project \"Eglinton Crosstown West Extension - Advanced Tunnel 1\" During my time at the ECWE ATC-1, I have been responsible for all subject matter related items including RFIs, reviewing, designing and implementing Traffic Management Drawings, and creating OTM Book 7 Traffic control plans using Bluebeam Revu and RapidPlan. As the Traffic and transit lead, I was the primary individual responsible for demonstrating overall compliance and competence in Client and ISO audits by my Traffic team. I am also the designated key individual, who is responsible for coordination and communication with municipalities, transit agencies, design groups and clients.
