Below are some of my key roles and responsibilities as part of BAU in Mainframe ServicesCollecting Mainframe System Management Facility (SMF) data and performing statistical analysis to produce different system performance and capacity reports.Developing strategic recommendations for improving system performance by analysing various metrics of Mainframe Operating system and processor.Maintaining and executing capacity and performance jobs to collect the Mainframe system’s data and creating backup of historical performance data.Assessing and testing the system capacity and troubleshooting any system performance related issues.Providing support to upgrade mainframe operating system, applications software and system performance tools.Performing system stability and performance testing and documenting the system maintenance procedures during data center migration.Co-ordinating with Application Development, Operating system, Storage, Database and Networking team to monitor and control CPU usage to meet the service level agreement (SLA).Planning and designing of system policies for workload distribution of different service classes and implementing them in mainframe operating system’s Workload Management (WLM) tool.CICS performance monitoring and providing recommendation to improve the response time
