I teach in the Dept. of Atmospheric Sciences at UAF and conduct research on climate variability that focuses on the Arctic and on Alaska. I use long term data sets and climate models to conduct my research. I am most interested in research questions that have relevance for society (seasonal fire weather forecasting for Alaska) and span disciplines (climate drivers of tundra vegetation).
