About Ibrahim Attia

Since my earliest childhood, I have had a great passion for computers, I always dreamed of building a career path in the computer programming field There are several reasons why I wanted to become an engineer in data science. Since my high school years, I have always been interested in computer subjects and spent many hours in the computer lab. Those courses have played an important role in why I wanted to become a programmer. As an Information science graduate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, I have gained a robust understanding of how to efficiently collect, manipulate, store, retrieve, and protect data. I’ve also learned about the methods, technologies, and practices for designing, developing, and implementing information systems and applications. I have gained the experience of working as a project-based graduate with the University of Arkansas of Agriculture to create a booking web-system for their new project. This opportunity has allowed me to complete small to large-sized complex projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; researching and identifying alternative solutions; and determining needed solutions based on return on investment and value added to the company. In the last, my journey at UALR has taught me so many valuable lessons on how to own my career, while maintaining the busy schedule of being a dedicated employee and a successful learner. For the past two years, I have been working as a programmer analyst at Fidelity Information Services Global (FIS). FIS is a provider of end-to-end technology solutions for merchants, banks, and capital markets firms globally and it was ranked second in the FinTech Forward 2016 rankings. During my career at FIS, I have gained much experience developing program logic while coding in “COBOL”, debugging, implementing, and maintaining mainframe applications through focusing on support and maintenance of multi-tier applications and their infrastructure as well as ensuring deployment of new systems and existing systems improvements. My career at FIS has given me the opportunity to develop a set of skills including trustworthiness, accountability, honesty, integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and work ethic. Due to my unrivaled interest in data science and programming, I am eager to join the post-graduate program in information science to challenge my problem-solving skills, broaden my professional acumen in data science and programming, and allow me to grow in my career with FIS.
